We have put together a number of terms and conditions for our website at Sutherland Cabinets LTD. We have created these conditions for our products and furniture that we sell on our online store and for items that we do not sell online.

If you are looking to place an order with us then it is always a good idea to give our terms and conditions a read to gain more of an understanding or our products and their conditions.

Firstly, the legal stuff

About our furniture/ products
We would like to state the importance of understanding some of our materials that we use, for example timber which is of course a natural material. Inevitably there is always going to be some form of natural movement with wood when it is in a different environment or there are changes of temperature. Wood is a beautifully living source of life which is proudly present in your home or chosen area, meaning like anything in everyday life there will be natural changes. But do not worry when this happens as it is completely normal and a natural occurrence.

Wood will decide to expand or shrink no matter of the area it is placed/stored in, due to temperature, environment and moisture levels. You may incur some form of cracking. We try to help treat the wood by drying it in the right environment to make it more durable but there will always be a means to maintain. We are always happy to help with any questions about how to care and maintain your product/furniture or you can also check out our care/ maintenance guide. ​

Our furniture/cabinets/interiors are usually either painted, oiled or stained dependent on the finish. However, with time you may find that the colour may differ/change due to the exposure and reaction of natural sun light and moisture within the room. Across the board you may find that because the paint we use is made up of pigments there may be a difference in batches of paint causing a slight variant of colour.

Oils and stains may encounter a slightly different colouring/variant this may be due to the timber used. For example, Oak offers a range of colours within the wood itself so when stayed/oiled it may incur a slight colour difference. We do however try our best to match the wood together where possible.
​
If you are looking to repair/ fix any damages or scratches/chips on the paintwork we would suggest to paint the whole unit as one instead of trying to patch up certain areas. ​

Placing/placed an online order
Please find that when you are placing an order online on our website, we will ask for the full amount to be paid at the current time of the order. ​Once your order has been confirmed the order cannot be changed, unless agreed by us, this is because the product may already be in production and certain elements may already have been made. More information can be found in our delivery, returns and cancellations policy.

When production is complete, photos will be sent and documented of the product to show the condition of the product on completion. Once this has been approved the product will be delivered. This means that the product will now be accepted as the responsibility of the customer and you will not be able to reject/decline the product when it arrives at your home and it must be accepted, unless there is any damage/fault of the product. For more information on accepting a product and checks please read the delivery, returns and cancellations policy.

If you are booking outside contractors to fit any of our furniture/products we cannot accept any liability or responsibility for any loss which may incur due to delays in the product/furniture being received, due to factors outside of our control.

​​Key importance​
When ordering your furniture/cabinetry/interior the order will be based off your measurements that you have taken, so please make sure they are correct as this will end up in remaking/ delivery costs. If you think that your order is incorrect and that you have ordered the wrong size please contact us immediately. If the order is changed then the whole order will be affected and any form off changes must be signed off by ourselves. These changes will only be accepted when confirmation is received by Sutherland Cabinets.

Cabinets/furniture/ interior will be built 4-8 weeks in advance from your delivery date. If any changes to your order are made within this time period, then this may impact your delivery date, which may be rescheduled for a later date. Please find any changes to the order once the item has been built will result in additional charges.
​
Purchasing cancelation orders/ returns
If one of these items are purchased from returns/cancellation orders, these items will be sold as seen and they may have slight dints/knocks and cannot be returned.

The images found on our website
Please find images on our website of products or previous work may look different in person due to the nature of the light/downloaded imaginary found on the website. The colour/ shape or size may look different on our website to your actual order and therefore our images are used as illustration purposes only. Bespoke orders or a change in suppliers may alter the image used. The temperature of drying time or batch of paint provided by suppliers can at times affect the paint colour and some contrast may be found. ​​

Returns and cancellations
Each order of each individual item will be dealt with separately. Furniture/cabinets/interior orders must be returned in their original packaging with no sign of use. ​​A charge of £150 will have to be paid for us to collect the item which you are returning. Once we have received the item back, the item will be thoroughly checked over and once we are happy with the condition of the item and that it is in a suitable condition, any money which has been agreed with will be refunded within 14 days.

Please note that if there is a fault from our side such as faults/dints/knocks to your item that we have caused during the process of delivery or in production then we will repair the fault at our own cost. This must be reported and photographic evidence must be provided within the 72 hour time period once delivery has taken place. Once the 72 hours has passed then any damage will most likely have been damaged on site.

Sutherland Cabinets will thoroughly check over each item before it is sent out for delivery. Each item will have numerous photographic evidence taken of the condition before the item is delivered to yourself. which will most likely reach you in perfect conditions.???

In the terms of using/ accessing our website or placing an order on our online store, you are accepting the terms placed by Sutherland cabinets and are legally bound to these terms and conditions. If, however, you do not agree with any of the terms and conditions that are set out on our website then you cannot place an order or use/access our website at Sutherland Cabinets. Timber/materials product information
1.1
Timber is a natural source of material which in turn means there may be some slight movement. This may be highlighted if you notice that doors, drawers or any other pieces of furniture have slightly moved or any cracks have formed. This is because the timber is adjusting to your room, to the temperature and humidity, which in turn can cause movement. Do not worry though we provide specific guidelines on any of these issues and support for any of the above. ​

Due to sunlight exposure and over time with age, some woods or paint colour may change/mellow.

Size/ Tolerance

We would like to highlight that we try to ensure that every piece of furniture/cabinet/interior is made to the specific size required. However, due to the materials used being you may find a few differences in size which could be 2mm above or 2mm below the required size due to the nature of the handmade work, this is also common in other suppliers. Due to the nature of wood being a natural source of material which absorbs/ takes in moisture it is best to let the wood settle to its new environment.​

Assembly

Most of our furniture is preassembled, meaning no home assembly is needed. However, at times this may be necessary upon delivery to with delivering the product/ avoiding any form of damage.

3.1
Our team will try to provide as much help with the assembly but please find at times you may have to do this on your own accord. Please make sure there is enough space for the product to be delivered and that the item can fit through doorways/corridors.

Measurements

Please find that we will not be liable for any extra cost that occurs as a result of incorrect measurements or information supplied by you, the customer.

4.1
Please ensure that the dismissions/ measurements are correct for each item that you order from us. Please also ensure that the item that you purchase will fit into your home or place of holding. This responsibility will be entirely on you, the customer.

Pricing
5.0
All the prices include VAT, at the appropriate rate.
​
5.1
We have the right to change any pricing on our website and offer promotional offers/ discounts. We also have the right to stop these forms of discount at any time.
​
5.2
The prices set on our online website are in no means transferable through any other means.
​
5.3
If we offer any promotional/ discount are valid until midnight of that day of expiry, as set by us.
5.4
If an error occurs, we will not be bound to honour any incorrect prices found on our website. If the prices that are adjusted you do not agree with the item will be refunded and the money returned.

Payment

Payment must be made by the form of credit or debit card at the time of ordering from our online store. Once purchasing you have correctly entered the details to provide a form of payment for the purchase of our products on our website.

6.1
You accept that you have legal ownership of the credit or debit card you are using and which is your own. You also accept that there are adequate funds on this form of payment or credit facilities to be able to make the correct payment and cover the funds to purchase any of the products.
6.2
We reserve the right to be able to obtain validation of your debit or credit card charge details before the acceptance of an order.

At the time of the order placed by yourself, a full payment will be taken.

6.4
Please find that we reserve the right to be able to cancel or refund any order at any given time. We will contact you if this is a necessary step needs to be taken.

Please find we reserve the right to be able to refuse any order placed by you. If this action is in the means necessary, we will contact you with further details.

6.6
The completion of the order will be fully completed once we have received the 1st initial step of payment from a debit or credit card payment in full. Then the order will be accepted and confirmation will be sent by online email of the process of the order and payment completion, this will be sent to the email you have provided us during the process of purchasing. The contract of completion will then be complete on the dispatchment of the product.

Returns, refunds and cancelling rights and policies

If the product that has been delivered is damaged at the time of delivery and you to choose to have this item returned because of this issue, then the delivery staff will take this product away at that current time, with no added charge. Please note that if you find any damage after delivery please report within 48 hours and find below the following steps to take.

If you find that you are missing a product, please ensure that you tell the delivery staff as this delivery will need to be signed for. If you need any further help, please send us an email or phone call.
​
Please find that you have the right to cancel orders placed with us within 14 working days from the delivery date. This however does not include any customised or bespoke products. This is in line with government guidelines for selling online and distance rules and regulations.
​
7.1
All returns must be notified to us within the 14 working day period, this is starting from the day of delivery. From there we will be in contact with further information on returns and how to go ahead with our returns procedure. A returns number will be specified(required)? and a form of paperwork may be necessary.
​
7.2
Please return any item in the same condition that you received the product. If you are wanting to return the item within the 14 days then please proceed with taking care of the product and the original packaging you received the item, keeping any form of packaging, the item was delivered in.
​
7.3
If you or the courier open the packaging/ box that the product is delivered in to examine, please be careful with the existing packaging/box and do so without causing any damage to the packaging/box or the product which has been delivered.
​
7.4
To ensure that we can resell the item please package the product in the same original packaging/box that it was delivered in. If the courier unpacks the product, please ensure that you keep all of the original packaging/box and that it remains with only the customer. No third party or courier should be allowed to destroy or dispose of any packing. Please ensure that you keep the original packaging/ box as we insist that the product is returned within the original source of packing.

Please note that a returns charge will be applicable?(applied)? once the item is delivered to you. Unless there is a fault of our own then the returns charge will be accountable to you. In turn before purchasing any product please be aware that once the item is dispatched from our workshop then a returns charge will apply if you choose to cancel the order. ?same as first line
If you do not want to pay this fee it is important that you quickly and promptly ensure you have told us before a delivery is sent that you choose to cancel your item.

The majority of our products work on a made to order system, which in turn means that if you choose to return the product, we would need to take 50% charge to cover any material costs and construction time. Also, a return cost of £150 for collection will be charged.
​
Cancellations
If you decide to cancel your item once the process of purchase has taken place then please note that a 10% administration fee will be charged. However, if this cancellation is requested once you have received a confirmation of purchase email? then we will be able to cancel your order. This information will need to be sent to us as soon as you receive the confirmation email from Sutherland Cabinets. This is to ensure that your item is cancelled before production has started. This information will need to be sent at maximum of 24 hours after receiving the email. If not, a 50% charge to cover material costs and construction time will be charged, as production of your product is started straight away on all made to order items.

Please note that if you find that any of the products are damaged or faulty then please contact us as soon as possible so will can help with the problem by contacting us by email or phone.

Refunds
Please find that a full refund will only be applied once the above statements have been met and once the product has been thoroughly inspected by our team. This is to ensure that a correct product return has taken place. Once this has been accepted by the above then the refund will be processed.
​
Once we have received the product and an inspection has taken place and the item has been accepted that it has been returned back in the state of the product being classed as NEW, unused and resellable, then a full refund will be invoiced with the amount less than?(minus)? the returns cost which is applicable?charged? to you the returner.
​​
Please note that at times some products such as those with doors or drawers may be stiff or harder to open. This could be due to the change in the environment and climate, as wood is a natural source of material and there may be slight movement during delivery. Please reframe from returning the item or class the item as faulty as the item will tend to rectify itself in a matter of 4-7 days, once the wood has adjusted to the temperature. A slight adjustment by yourself may be necessary, this may include taking the drawer out and placing back in. For further details please contact a member of our team.

The meaning of a slight stiffness in doors or drawers will not be classed as faulty. Please be aware that when purchasing on our website that you are accepting and have an understanding that small adjustments by yourself as a customer may need to be taken at the expense of the customer/ purchaser. If, however, you do not wish to try this then please contact us for further details on the process of returning an item
which then we will then complete the refund without the cost of a return which is stated above.

7.6
Subject to the statutory rights of your own, any product that is crafted or altered which is specified by you to customise sizes etc will not be able to be returned or no form of refund will be offered. This however, will only not be applicable if the product has been accidentally damaged by us during delivery or defective by us before or during delivery.

7.7
Any returns will not be accepted after the 14-day period starting from the delivery date, other than if the product has a fault.
​
7.8
Please find that at no point will we be liable for any damage caused by using a third party or by yourself undertaking any form of repairs to the product, unless in fact the third party or our employees have been advised by us to undertake these form of repairs.

7.9
If in the unlikely event we deliver the wrong product, please report this to our team as soon as possible and we will try to rectify this issue as quickly as possible. If the replacement item or redelivery of the product is classed as or found to be unfortunately impractical then will offer a full refund. ​​​​​​​​​​​

The delivery of items
8.0
We will deliver your purchased product on the set date we provided you by email which is confirmed by your order. For most items that are made to order you will receive a time period of the production and then a further email will be sent to you with a updated date and time scale for the delivery of your product. ​
​
8.1
Online orders from our website are only available to be delivered to you if you hold a UK mainland address. For overseas or not main land UK please contact us for further information. Please note at the upmost we will always try and deliver your product on time and on the date provided. However, at times a delay may unfortunately occur but we will reschedule for as soon and quickly as possible. If the area is a more remote location, then it may take time to deliver your product. ​

8.2
All set out times for delivery are approximate. If delays occur on delivery due to unforeseen circumstances or circumstances out of our control then we will communicate this to you.
​
8.3
If any changes are made to any product which is ordered, then this will result in the delay of delivery of the product. This in turn will mean that the set date for delivery may change and a new date will be rearranged.
​
8.4
Please ensure that our staff or delivery team is able to access your property safely at all times. This also includes the access from a public road/ highway. If the delivery staff decide that this area is unsafe to proceed with the delivery then the delivery will not be completed until a safe route/ access is provided.
​
8.5
Please ensure that your property or where the product is being delivered to has access available to deliver the product with ease and that delivery staff are able to carry the product through doors, be able to turn and fit the product into the space. It is your responsibility when ordering a product from our online website to ensure that the item can fit into the space and that the item does not need to be taken apart.

8.6​
If you are unable to take the delivery on the day confirmed, please let us know at least one?is this enough working day before. A new date will be rearranged.
​
8.7
If the delivery staff of no fault of their own cannot gain access to deliver the product on the rearranged date and time then product will not be delivered and returned back to our workshop. A new delivery date will be rearranged at the cost of the customer.
​
8.8
Sutherland Cabinets LTD will not be liable to any loss or damage through the consequence of delays due to unforeseen circumstances out of our control or any rearranged schedule date and time of delivery.
​
8.9
If the product that you receive on delivery is damaged, please contact us as soon as possible and will do our upmost to fix this problem. For communication purposes please do not rearrange or ask the delivery team to arrange an exchange or refund please contact our team by email or phone call. Reports of damage must be reported within 24 hours of the delivery of the product.
​
8.11
If our team accidently damages the product, the liability for us will be to offer a repair, replacement or refund of the value of the goods purchased at that time of purchase.

8.12
At times there may need to be someone at the property to assist the courier in moving the product to the ground floor of the property. This will be communicated beforehand by email and contacted on the day of delivery.
​
8.13
If a number of items are ordered together, the dispatch date and time for delivery will be with the assigned longest lead time and shared delivery will take place. ​​

Top cover /granite/wood/marble information​​
If you have a timber top or other areas of the product are timber, please be aware that timber is a natural living material so may move a little. Do not worry we can support you with this and help give tips and guidance.
​​
Both wood and granite are natural sources of material, meaning as a result the colour, texture, veins and grains will vary from each piece as no one is the same and so there may be slight discrepancies.
​
Each slab of stone or piece of timber may vary in thickness from piece to piece. ​Unfortunately, even if each piece of wood or stone has a coating on top or is sealed there is still a chance of staining and consequently Sutherland Cabinets will not be accountable.
​
In turn Sutherland cabinets will not be liable or responsible once the product is accepted for any form of stains, breakages or fissures.

The things we unfortunately do not cover

Any form of wear and tear such as scratches and dints.

Any item that you have made changes or repairs to.

Appliances or items from another company such as handles, hinges etc.

Any form over time of natural changes to the item, such as cracking of timber, colour changes or fading of paint or other materials.
